Cloth Nappy Rebates from council across Australia, current April 2024.
In this blog post, we endeavour to share and link to the various councils and local governments currently offering cloth nappy rebates throughout Australia. If your council is currently offering a rebate for cloth nappies or reusable menstrual products and we haven't included them, please send us a message and we'll get them added.
Please note: This blog post is a work in progress and we will add to it throughout April 2024, as we hear back from councils to confirm their rebate program is ongoing.
Residents of Blacktown City Council are eligible for a rebate on the purchase of cloth nappies. The cloth nappy rebate will cover 50% of the purchase price up to a maximum rebate value of $200. There will be a maximum of 1 rebate per household. There is no end date currently determined but the rebate is subject to budget allocations.
Inner West residents can claim a rebate on the purchase of reusable nappies sanitary products.
The rebate is for 50% of the purchase price of eligible products (max $150).
This rebate can be used for cloth nappies, swim nappies, reusable inner liners for nappies, wet bags, reusable wipes associated with cloth nappies and reusable nursing pads.
Sutherland Shire residents can claim a 50% rebate (up to $50 per household) on the purchase of reusable nappies. One rebate per household. Proof of purchase must be no older than three months and dated no earlier than 1 March 2022. The timeframe for this offer depends on funds available.

If you are a resident of the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area, you can receive a rebate for half the cost of reusable nappies, up to the value of $100 per child and half the cost of reusable menstrual products up to the value of $50. This rebate trial will apply to reusable nappies / menstrual products purchased between 1 September 2022 and 30 June 2024. The rebate is on a first-in-first-served basis until available funding is exhausted.

Ballarat residents are able to claim some of the cost of buying cloth nappies, with a rebate of 50% of the purchase price (up to $100). The rebate must be claimed within 3 months of the purchase of the product. The rebate will continue to run until the budget is exhausted.

Households in Cardinia Shire have a number of waste rebates available, including a rebate for products such as cloth nappies, reusable swim nappies, reusable liners, wipes, wet bags and nursing pads. The rebate is 50% of the cost, up to $150 given back to you. The rebate must be claimed within 60 days of the purchase of the product.
In 2023 and 2024 Council ran reusable nappy, sanitary and incontinence product rebates. Residents could get up to 50 per cent of their purchase back capped at $50 for reusable sanitary and incontinence products and $100 for reusable nappy products.

Mornington residents may apply for a rebate on the purchase of cloth nappies including reusable swim nappies, reusable nappy liners and reusable baby wipes. They can claim 50% of the total purchase price, for a maximum $100 rebate. Tax invoices must be no older than 6 months from the date of purchase and one rebate per household may be claimed.
Wyndham residents can apply for a rebate on 50% of the purchase price of cloth nappies (up to $100). There is currently no end date to this scheme and residents may access the rebate once per financial year.

The City of Holdfast Bay is offering residents a cloth nappy rebate of 50% (up to $50) of the cost of cloth nappies, as well as offering residents the chance to buy modern cloth nappy starter packs, worth over $200, for just $50. Each pack contains six modern cloth nappies and four reusable flannel cloths. They can be purchased at the Brighton Civic Centre, 24 Jetty Road Brighton open Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 5pm. Just bring proof of address such as a driver's licence or a utility bill. Twenty packs available as at 10 July 2023.

The City of Albany is offering residents a rebate of 50% (up to $100 per household) on the purchase of reusable cloth nappies. Valid purchases eligible for a rebate must have been made on or after 19 November 2021. Accessories, for example: wipes and wet bags, are not included. The rebate scheme will continue until further notice.

Residents of the Shire of Augusta, Margaret River, can claim a rebate of up to $100 towards the cost of cloth nappies for families. Receipts provided must be less than 6 months old.
Bassendean residents may apply for a cloth nappy rebate of 50% of the purchase price up to a maximum of $100. The purchase must have been within 12 months from the date of the claim. There is no end date currently determined but the rebate is subject to budget allocations.
Cockburn residents can claim a 50% rebate (up to a maximum of $100) on the hire or purchase of modern cloth nappies. Residents must have attended an eligible cloth nappy workshop within the 6 months prior to submitting an application.
City of Melville residents can apply for a 50% rebate of up to $100 for the purchase or hire of modern cloth nappies. Residents must have attended an eligible cloth nappy workshop within the 6 months prior to submitting an application.
City of Hobart residents can apply for a rebate for 50 per cent of the purchase price (maximum $50) of either cloth nappies including swim nappies, or reusable sanitary products such as menstrual cups, cloth pads and period underpants. The offer is available for 2023/2024 with no end date currently determined. Purchase date must be on or after 1 September 2021.
